The Nokia 7, currently available in China only, is getting a new software update with plenty of improvements, the latest Android security patch, and other enhancements. The update will be available over-the-air and weighs around 172MB.

Folks in China should be seeing this update with build number 064C-B02 on their Nokia 7 smartphone. Apart from installing the latest November Android security patch on the device, you will notice many other improvements.

The camera has been improved, and can now take brighter photos, has better Face recognition, reduced smear and color brightness. It also improves Power saving, network performance, and system stability. So a pretty nice package all in all. Nokia also happens to among the first to release an update with the November security patch, right after Google and BlackBerry!

The software update is still based on Android 7.1.1 Nougat, and we’re not sure when the phone would be updated to Oreo. HMD Global hasn’t yet announced any plans to launch the Nokia 7 outside of China. For the moment then, only customers in China can enjoy this new update.
