Nokia 6 update rolling out with July security patch in China, brings optional support for Google Play Services

Last week, everyone was surprised when Nokia rolled out July security patch for Nokia 6 in Hong Kong and Taiwan even before Google rolled it for Google Pixel devices.

So, basically, Nokia 6 became the first device to get July security patch. Now the July security patch has reached the Chinese variant of Nokia 6.

The update, which arrives with the build number 00CN_3_31A weighs 380MB. As per the official changelog, the update brings July security patch and fixes camera issue in the Arabic language.

As is the case with any security patch, the update takes care of various security vulnerabilities and brings along fixes to existing bugs. You can also expect performance and stability improvements from the update.

However, according to the report by NokiaPowerUser, the update brings along optional support for Google Play Services. For the unaware, Chinese variants of Android smartphones don’t have Google Play Store preinstalled on them. Therefore, once this update is installed, users can download and install the Google Play Store on their handsets.
