A year ago, Nokia marked its return to the smartphone business with the launch of the Nokia 6 and as you may have guessed, it’s time for the Nokia 6 2018.

The OG Nokia 6’s huge demand across the globe means that Nokia has enjoyed a pretty decent start to life and there’s no doubt that hopes are high in the company’s camp. Many are eager to meet the phone’s successor – and apparently, it’s already here thanks to some hawk-eyed guys in China. First spotted by Phone Arena, we now have our eyes on a bunch of Nokia 6 2018 images that leave little to the imagination.

From the images, HMD is still keeping it low-key by sticking to just about the same design as the OG 6 but for the golden outlines on the frame, around rear-mounted fingerprint scanner and the main shooter, which is a nice gesture. If anything, major changes will be happening under the hood, which is not strange at all given that this is only the second model.

In general, the Nokia 6 was – and still is – a great budget phone. It rocks a decent metallic build, a good camera, a great – and big – display screen, enough room for storage and an affordable price tag. Ooh, did I mention it’s already testing Android Oreo? One thing that many still bemoan is the choice of the processor – the Snapdragon 430. This was the deal breaker, but with the Nokia 6 2018, you can expect a significant upgrade in performance.

The phone will reportedly get a new Snapdragon 600 series chipset that will be mated with a bigger RAM (the Nokia 6 has up to 4GB RAM) and up to 64GB of storage, same as its predecessor. As for the rest of the specs, including display size, resolution and possibly the battery capacity, they should remain unchanged.

The Nokia 6 2018 is reportedly set for a January 5th launch, which is actually tomorrow. Check out more images below.
