The latest version of Android, the Android 8.0 Oreo update, is slowly rolling out to the masses. As of now, only a handful of eligible Pixel and Nexus smartphones have received it. Also, do make a note that only the unlocked variants of these devices have got the update right off the bat since these are directly controlled by Google, while carrier locked handsets are int he process of receiving updates, as we saw with AT&T Pixel, Optus Australia Nexus 6P, and also Verizon Pixel.

And speaking of the carrier locked devices, it is quite hard to predict as to when the update will be rolled out since a few of them manages to push the update quickly and in some cases, it often takes more time than usually expected. However, it looks like the Nexus 6P smartphones in Canada are set to be updated to goodness of Oreo very soon.

According to the Canadian carrier Rogers’s OS update list, Huawei-made Google Nexus 6P will get the update on September 11th. Apart from that, the website has also listed a bunch of devices along with their current OS version and the next update schedule, etc. which is quite useful. However, do make a note that the website has clearly mentioned about the possibility of change in date for the same. Hence we suggest you stay on the lookout for any kind of announcements.
