It has only been a couple of days since Google released Android 7.0 Nougat to supported Nexus devices, which, unfortunately, doesn’t include the Nexus 5. But thanks to the brave souls over at xda, an AOSP based Android Nougat 7.0 ROM for Nexus 5 is available for download/install.
Developer Santhosh M is working on a Android 7.0 Nougat ROM for Nexus 5, and he has already gotten it to boot with major functionalities like WiFi, Cellular Network and Audio. However, Bluetooth and Camera are yet to be fixed and there are many more things that might not be working on the ROM. So don’t take it as your daily driver yet.
Known issues with the Nexus 5 Nougat ROM:
- Bluetooth
- Camera
- Many more..
Installing Android 7.0 ROM on your Nexus 5 is as easy as installing any other custom ROM. Just get TWRP recovery installed on your Nexus 5 and you’re good to go and flash Nougat ROM on your N5.
