At the MWC 2015, Lenovo announced the Vibe Shot camera centric smartphone and claimed that the device will be going on sale from June. The device boasts of a 5 inch Full HD 1080p display and carries some high-end hardware.
While the Vibe Shot is yet to hit the retail stores across the global markets, a downgraded version of the smartphone with a 5 inch HD 720p display has passed through the Chinese Telecommunication Equipment Certification Center. It has been revealed that the device carries the model number Lenovo Z90.
The Lenovo Z90 looks exactly like the original variant of the Vibe Shot and it carries the dimensions 1 42.6 x 70 x 7.6 mm. It looks like the only difference between the two Vibe Shot models is the display.
Well, this makes it clear that the downgraded Vibe Shot with a HD 720p display and the model number Lenovo Z90 will also boast of camera centric aspects such as a 16 MP main snapper with triple LED flash and optical image stabilization. The other aspects that will be a part of the device include an 8 MP front facer, Snapdragon 615 chipset with octa core processor ticking at 1.7 GHZ clock speed and 3 GB of RAM.
While the recent Lenovo smartphones such as Vibe X2 Pro run on Android KitKat operating system, the Vibe Shot will arrive Android Lollipop out of the box. While the Vibe Shot with Full HD 1080p display is priced starting from $349, the 720p variant of the device will be relatively cheaper. We need to wait to know if this device is meant for the global markets or only for the Chinese market.
