Asus ZenFone 3 may have already been succeeded twice by the ZenFone 4 and then recently the ZenFone 5, but the Taiwanese company isn’t stepping the foot off the gas as far as rolling out software updates to this handset is concerned.
After missing out on rolling out May 2018 patches, Asus is now rolling out an update that combines security patches from the months of May and June 2018. The update is rolling out to two variants of the ZenFone 3 – the ones with model numbers ZE520KL and ZE552KL. Also, the update takes care of the RCS issue for a superior battery life and further fixes the “DrWeb found danger in the system file Go2Pay” issue.
The pair is receiving the update as software version 15.0410.1806.65 and is based on Android 8.0 Oreo. Like other updates, this one is coming in over the air, which means it’ll take some time before all ZenFone 3 units in question receive the download notification.
You can wait for the notification to show up, probably over the weekend or early next week, but Asus also recommends trying a manual update via Settings > System > System update > Check update.
