New update to Viber app allows backup and restore of messages, GIFs and money sending from US

The popular video calling app Viber just received a new update with version 6.1.0.2369 that allows you to back the messages (and restore when needed), which is something it had to because, you know, the WhatsApp. That’s a cool addition, as is enabling GIFs, which you can now send in any conversation.

In some non-typical stuff, Viber also enabled sending out money to over 200 countries worldwide — it’s handled by Western Union, btw — while cash pickups are allowed to via WU agent locations, and moreover, payment can be made directly into bank accounts in over 50 countries. Yep!

A new feature update has been handed out to Viber Out too — app’s premium call plans — wherein you can now check your balance, and buy new credits and special calling plans at low cost.
