New Update for Verizon Galaxy S3 incoming, dubbed VRALHE

Back in early October, the VRALHD software update for the Verizon Galaxy S3 was leaked, supposed to fix the “No SIM card” errors that some users were still experiencing despite an earlier fix, but it was only available unofficially and had to be installed manually. But it seems Verizon decided that the VRALHD update wasn’t good enough, and has announced that the next update will be VRALHE instead.

At a size of 62MB, the VRALHE update brings the following improvements:

  • Enhanced Zooming Feature has been added to user interface for Web browsing, reading emails and more
  • Reduced device resets
  • Enhanced Stability in Google Play

The update should start rolling out in the next few days, and you can manually check for it from the Settings » About phone » System updates menu on your phone.

  1. Just updated on rooted stock ROM. Applied options not to flash and to restore root in CWM before rebooting. Got an error message stating the update failed, but phone is reporting the updated baseband and I still have root.
