Smartphone vendors tend to prioritize newer devices when it comes to software updates and while this is partly true for Samsung, it is not always the case. For instance, the company is now rolling out the same update to two devices that are a year apart – the Galaxy A6 and Galaxy J7 Pro.
The former saw the light a few weeks ago while the latter was unveiled in July 2017, however, both handsets are now being treated to this month’s Android security patches. The Galaxy A6 update brings software version A600GNUBU1ARE2 while the J7 Pro is receiving an update with software version J730GMDXU3ARF2.
The updates are rolling out over the air and will take time before all Galaxy A6 and J7 Pro units get the OTA download notification. You can wait or check the update via Settings > About phone > System update and download the update manually.
