The Android 5.1 update for Moto X 2nd Gen (XT1092) really came pretty soon, especially when you consider when it came to flagships like Samsung Galaxy S6 and HTC One M9, and that’s one thing in faster updates that we love about Motorola.

But that meant Stagefright vulnerability was yet to be discovered in time to be coupled with the 5.1 update itself, leaving the Moto X2 users well, vulnerable to the said bug.

Anyway though, the Stagefright update is finally out, and could hit your own Moto X2 anytime now as an OTA, carrying a build no. LPE23.32-25.3.

The update is sized just 18 MB it’s reported, but because it does what it does — fixing Stagefright! — it’s pretty important update and not the one you’d want to pass.

Root access worry? Well okay, you could root your device again with the same tools combo of TWRP and SuperSU.

It’s not Android 5.1.1 update btw, but now that Android 6.0 Marshmallow is out, you are more interested in 6.0 update, aren’t you?

If the Stagefright update is yet to hit your Moto X2 XT1092, and you are growing impatient, then hit up Settings and check for the update under About device menu.
