Asus finally broke the silence regarding its long-overdue ZenFone 4 series smartphones! According to a new report from Digitimes, the Taiwanese tech giant will unveil the new ZenFone 4 smartphones at the end of July 2017.
For the unaware, the aforementioned launch date is nearly 3 months behind the actual schedule. The company is attributing the delay in the launch to “design overhaul and efficiency upgrades.”
According to the company’s CEO, Jerry Shen, the ZenFone 4 series handsets will carry a “competitive” price tag. With the Chinese smartphone vendors getting more aggressive with the pricing of their products, Asus’s smartphone business started suffering more and more losses.

The company, however, expects the ZenFone 4 series to put its smartphone business back on the profit-lane by the second half of the year.
The report further suggests that the company will initially unveil the 5.5-inch model from the ZenFone 4 line and then continue to slowly launch devices in different sizes. As for the pricing, the 5.5-inch variant is expected to be priced anywhere close to NTD 15,000 (approximately USD 500).
Also, the Digitimes report suggests that the company will launch its next-generation smartphone dubbed the ZenFone 5 (for now) during MWC 2018 event.
