Just a few days ago, Motorola teased that it would be making an announcement later this month and said that the first hint would be given on Wednesday. But looks like the announcement itself was made yesterday! The Lenovo-owned company released the next gen in the line-up of the Moto E smartphones in two variants – the Motorola Moto E (Gen 2) and the Motorola Moto E (Gen 2) LTE. Well, now we know what it meant by ‘Everything you need fits inside one box’!
The 3G model costs $119.99 and the LTE model is priced at $149.99 on www.motorola.com. The smartphones are now available in more than 50 countries in North America, Europe, Latin America and Asia. Both the devices operate in Android 5.0 Lollipop out-of-the box. They are single-SIM device powered by a 2390mAh battery. Also, the phone and its variant feature a 4.5 inch qHD display.
If you’re one of those people who are obsessed with selfies, then here’s something you’ll love. You can launch the Quick Capture feature with just two twists of your wrist. And then if you want to switch to your front camera, all you have to do is twist your wrist again! However, the device only packs a 0.3MP front camera which is not so great for selfies and video calls!
Also, Moto E 2015 comes with replaceable bands (the sides of the phone) which you could pick from range of colors. Be it yellow, turquoise, purple red or raspberry, the choice is yours! Both the phones have almost the same features except that the Moto E features a 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 SoC and the LTE variant packs a 64 bit quad core 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 SoC.
The handsets are available in black and white colors and to protect them from damages, you have Grip Shells which too are available in many colors.
