Motorola has always maintained a positive image when it comes to delivering speedy software updates. Since Moto Z2 Force is the face of the Lenovo-owned mobile company right now, the timely Android 8.0 update for the international variant was not surprising. The global release of the Oreo update for the Moto Z2 Force was quickly followed by T-Mobile in the United States.
Somehow, it has taken AT&T almost two months to do the same, but the software update is finally here. The U.S. telecom giant has begun rolling out the Android 8.0 Oreo update to the Moto Z2 Force for the model number XT1789. Bringing the goodness of features like Picture-in-Picture mode and notification dots, the latest update weighs in at just 334MB.
The software update version of the Moto Z2 Force on the AT&T network is now OCX27.109-47. According to the official AT&T software support page, the security level of the device has been updated to January 1, 2018. However, a screenshot of the latest update from a user suggests that the software version is actually from December.
AT&T has not offered a detailed changelog on what network-side changes the latest update brings. The software update is incremental, so it could take a couple of days for the OTA update notification to reach your Moto Z2 Force on the AT&T network. You can also manually check for the software update by heading over to Settings > About Phone > System Updates.
