Motorola grabs a seat in the Android Enterprise Recommended program

The days of Blackberry being the business phone of the 21st-century man are far gone, and its time Android took its place. Google recently announced the Android Enterprise Recommended program, which helps businesses and corporations adopt Android-based mobile devices to manage and operate the workforce.

There are certain requirements, based on which Android OEMs can brand their devices suitable for the Android Enterprise Recommended program. Some of the main requirements include a minimum OS version of Android 7.0 Nougat, up-to-date security update cycle, network unlocking support and many more.

The program already includes Google’s very own devices, the Nokia 8, LG V30 and now, Motorola is joining the party. The company has sent out an official blog post, highlighting that the flagship Moto Z2 Force and the Moto X4 are joining the Android Enterprise Recommended program.

Google will be spearheading the first stage of the program, by offering extended support to Android OEMs to meet the enterprise standards. The main specification being the support for enrolling devices in bulk via QR code or zero-touch (Android 8.0 devices), which is essential for larger businesses.

Android is going all in with the Enterprise program, offering device support for extended services based on your EMM (Enterprise Mobility Management) service as well as preferred network carriers.
