The new line-up of Razr smartphones from Motorola, all attained rooted nirvana earlier today, thanks to XDA member djrbliss. While the developer had originally posted this method for rooting the Atrix HD, he did mention that it should also work for the Razr M, Razr i and the upcoming Razr HD, and does not need bootloader unlocking. Earlier, we had also written a separate guide on how to root the Razr i.
This method is quite simple, and takes less than 5 minutes to let you have root access on your brand new Razr handset. It involves downloading a zip file, extracting it, and then executing a run.bat file with your phone connected to your PC. That sets off an automated script which runs the exploit and roots the phone.

If this is the first time you are trying this out, you may want to refer to our step-by-step guide which will help you get rooted in no time. Go ahead and give it a shot, and let us know how it worked for you.
