The Moto Z is up for receiving the update to Android Nougat in China according to a Motorola official on Weibo. The Nougat update with build number NCC25.106-11 will finally bring all the best features Android offers, which have long since arrived on the flagship global Moto Z and Moto G4 variants.
Nougat brings in performance and stability improvements over Marshmallow, while also giving battery life a boost thanks to advanced Doze feature. Graphics also see an improvement in performance with the new Vulkan API being integrated into Nougat. Of course the smartphone running Nougat will need to meet the requirements to support this API.
Split-screen multitasking which was found in other Android skins is finally making its way to stock Android 7.0 Nougat. Another nifty feature that Nougat brings along is quick switching apps, which was originally a CyangenMod feature.
There are numerous more additions of Nougat making way to Chinese Moto Z, with the more noticeable changes being the revamping of the settings menu, notifications shade, and quick replying from the notification shades.
The Moto Z Play will also be receiving the update very soon, as per rumors. As for the Motorola Android 7.1.1 update, the Moto X Style was spotted running on that version of Android on GFXbench, so it’s safe to speculate that the upgrade to Android 7.1.1 isn’t far.
