It seems like the wait is over for Moto X Play users! Lenovo-owned Motorola has finally started rolling out the much-needed Nougat update to its 2015’s mid-range handset, the Moto X Play.
Before getting into further details, let us warn you that you won’t be able to downgrade to the previous software versions once you install the latest update.
The company has skipped the Android 7.0 Nougat update (as opposed to what it promised earlier) and is directly rolling out the Android 7.1.1 Nougat (finally!).
This update will bring all the Nougat goodies to the Moto X Play including multi-window split screen mode, improved Doze mode, and updated notifications shade. Also, the Moto X Play users can now check out the updated Quick Settings and Settings Menu which is a part of the Nougat update.

Further, the update will install Google’s video calling app, the Google Duo on the smartphone.
The new update also carries with it the Android security patches until May 1st, 2017 alongside the usual bug fixes and stability improvements.
As is the case with any update make sure to maintain at least 50% charge before installing the update. Also, try to back up your data and switch to a Wi-Fi network to avoid additional data charges before the installation process begins.
