The Motorola Moto X Play has been rumored to get Android 7.1.1 Nougat update a lot of times. The company even officially announced it on their support pages that Android 7.1.1 update is rolling out to the device. However, as far as we know, none of the Moto X Play users have received the Android 7.1.1 update yet on their devices.
But thankfully, this is about to change with Rogers releasing the much awaited Moto X Play Nougat update in Canada on October 31st. The carrier announced it on their weekly OS upgrade schedule board that the Moto X Play Android 7.0 Nougat, along with security updates, on October 31st.
Motorola is also preparing for Android 8.0 update currently. Motorola Oreo update is expected to be released first for the company’s flagship devices in the next 30-45 days. The Oreo update will probably launch as a beta release first to a limited set of users who sign-up for the soak test under Motorola’s beta software testing program. Officially, Motorola should release Android 8.0 Oreo by the end of this year or early in January.
