We know you want Android 7.0 Nougat update for your Moto X 2014, but now that device is more than 2 years old, it’s kind of ineligible for that. Though, Motorola is still supporting the device by releasing security patch OTAs, one of which started rolling out today as software version 24.221.7.en.EU.
Yesterday was a big day for Motorola fans, as the company released the Moto G4 and G4 Plus Nougat update in India. It’s even available for download for the G4 Plus sets, as a soak test version that was released in Brazil.
While we aren’t surprised by the lack of Nougat update Moto X 2nd Gen (2014), it was pretty shocking to learn that Moto G3 Nougat update is not in company’s plans, especially because Motorola is knows for supporting its mid-range devices with latest version of Android.

Which is something that was vindicated yesterday when Moto pushed the 7.0 update for its current mid-range offering, the Moto G4, and G4 Plus. To our surprise, these two received the update before the Moto’s premium offering in Moto Z, Z Force and Z Play.
Moto X 2014 update download
Well, open up your Settings app, and tap on About device. Now, check for the update under ‘System update’ section, you must get the 24.221.7 update.
