The Motorola Moto M was released recently and it is the first all metal smartphone from the company. It has been launched in India and is available exclusively through Flipkart. The Moto M has two variants, one with 32GB of storage and 3GB RAM, and another with 64GB storage and 4GB RAM.

As for the complete specs, the Moto M features a 5.5 inch 1080p IPS display, a quad-core MediaTek Helio P15  processor, a 16MP rear camera with phase detection auto-focus, 8MP front camera, and a 3050mAh battery. It also has a circular fingerprint sensor at the back, features Dolby Atmos and is water/dust resistant.

Motorola released the M with Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow on board, no Nougat yet. The 32GB variant is priced at Rs. 15,999 and the 64GB model is Rs. 17,999.

Motorola Moto M Nougat Update: Will it happen?

As this is a newly launched smartphone, it will most likely get updated to Android 7.0 Nougat. Motorola has already released the Nougat update for the Moto G4 and G4 Plus in India. The Moto Z Droid and Z Droid Force (US variant) have received the Nougat update as well. Next in line is the Moto X Play, which was spotted running Android 7.0 on GFXBench.

The Moto M Nougat update should probably arrive in the first half of 2017, as that is when most newly launched smartphones will get Nougat. The update could be based on Android 7.1.1, and not Android 7.0.
