The Moto G5 Plus has been around since April 2017 and is no longer receiving major Android OS upgrades, but this hasn’t removed it from Motorola’s software update radar.
On its official software support page, Motorola U.S. has published the release notes for the latest Moto G5 Plus update that is expected to begin rolling out anytime from now. From the changelog, the device will receive a new February 2019 security patch, but there is more.
Users of Android Messages will enjoy improved support while there’s a reprieve for those who have been experiencing issues with Wi-Fi functionality and mobile hotspot usability.
As noted, the OTA update should begin rolling out anytime from now, but as usual, the rollout will be staggered, meaning some Moto G5 Plus users will get the nod ahead of others.
