Moto G 3rd Gen Firmware Leaks, confirms Android 5.1.1 on board

A firmware has already leaked of the Moto G 3rd Gen, confirming the software at least, and an obvious one, that it would come pre-installed with Android 5.1.1 update. Since the filename makes mention of code RETUS, we believe it’s the US variant whose firmware this is.

This is an FXZ file, a Fastboot XML Zip in case you didn’t know, that you will be able to flash on the Moto G 2015 using the RSDLite software. That’s a bit tricky, but that software compatible firmwares come in this format.

It’s believed that the codename of the Moto G 2015 will be XT1543, while its specs would be moderate enough only: packing in mediocre Snapdragon 400 processor, 5-inch HD display (294 PPI), 1GB RAM, 8GB of internal storage, rear camera of 8MP, and 5MP front facing camera. Moto G 3rd Gen will support 4G LTE, and also microSD cards of maybe upto 64GB. A battery of 2390 mAh could be on the cards.

Keep watching this space and we’ll bring further updates on this as and when they come knocking.
