Surprisingly, it seems the Moto G 2nd Gen. has beaten every other device to getting the official Android 5.0 Lollipop update. the Nexus devices are rumored to get the update today, and the Moto X 2014 Android 5.0 release notes suggests, Moto X 2014 should too receive the Lollipop update anytime now.
The Moto G 2nd Gen. is reportedly receiving the Android 5.0 Lollipop update in the US. However, as of now only the unlocked variant of the device is getting the OTA update, but with the speed at which device manufacturers are readying the Android 5.0 update, we wouldn’t be surprised if carriers too push the update quicker than their usual long n boring timelines.
With Android 5.0, you’ll also get the Ambient display on your Moto G. So no more envying the Moto Display on Moto X. Ambient display gracefully turns on/off your screen when you pick up your phone or when a new notification arrives on your device. Watch this video to learn more about Ambient display.
