MIUI Weekly update #334 brings fix for Mi Mix proximity sensor and more

The famous Mi Mix from Xiaomi is receiving a new update today in Xiaomi’s weekly package, on #334 today, bringing in a lot of reinforcements in the form of bug fixes and other minor improvements. For those of your who are unfamiliar with the Mi Mix, it is one of the first few smartphone to bring a proper border-less screen to our world (except a certain Japanese phone that didn’t make much name sadly).

The Xiaomi Mi Mix update coming in as OTA also deals with a bug that plagues the ultrasonic proximity sensors. On top of that, the update also removes service numbers from the SMS app and introduces recommended text messages and bulk call capabilities ensuring a smoother user experience.

MIUI has been on version 8 for quite a while and unlike stock Android updates where changes are noticeable with different versions, MIUI 8 spans over Lollipop, Marshmallow and Nougat. This means that the user interface on MIUI 8 over three generations of Android only have small differences. We’re hoping Xiaomi changes this trend with MIUI 9.

Nevertheless, MIUI is an excellent skin in terms of functionality. This especially holds true in the case of Mi Mix, where the Xiaomi skin adapts to the build of the device. This new update also covers various other bug fixes which have been present in the device for quite a while now. In addition to that, other under-the-hood performance improvements have also been implemented in this update.
