Xiaomi started rolling out MIUI 10 update version 8.8.9 a week ago and quickly moved in to suspend the update after numerous reports that it was messing up with Dual Apps and the notification system in general, among other things. The company promised an update will be released soon with fixes for these issues and indeed, a preview of the changelog for a new update has just gone live.
Coming in as MIUI 10 beta 8.8.16, the update addresses all the issues that were causing havoc among Xiaomi users after the rollout of version 8.8.9. If you’ve experienced any problems with the Dual Apps feature on v8.8.9, this is the update you’ve been waiting for. Some have reported cases of double notifications in WhatsApp, Telegram, and other apps, an issue the latest 8.8.16 update is here to fix.

Other fixes the update brings are for the texts translate error in security, days of the month are displayed in gray, issues with Spotify lockscreen notifications, as well as the white overlay that is visible in the Call UI drop down notification, among others.
The MIUI 10 8.8.16 update will begin rolling out tomorrow, August 16, which is when Xiaomi will publish the official download links for recovery and fastboot files. Meanwhile, you can also check out the link below just to be sure if your Xiaomi device will be upgraded to Android Pie.
