Google had started the Android One initiative in India to deliver quality Android devices to every person and to bring the web based services available everywhere in the world. Micromax being one of the hardware partner for the Android One initiative, released the Canvas A1 which packs decent features and comes with the latest Android OS with promised updates in the future. However, the after-sale experience of the local manufacturers can be as bad as you can imagine. Sometimes they take a few weeks to a month to get the problem resolved.

The after sale service is the major factor that stops many new developers and advanced Android users to stop exploring the beauty of Android. But this doesn’t stop the developers from exploring the content of the device. Just after a few days from release, the Canvas A1 device received a lot of response from the developers and it already got a Root procedure, CWM recovery installation procedure. Now another developer pulled out the stock firmware from the device and uploaded it to the XDA forums. This builds a fail-proof safety to the device when you’re getting your hands dirty with it.

The firmware can be flashed using the SP Flash Tool which is widely used to flash firmware on the Mediatek devices. We are testing the firmware as we are writing this post, so once we can flash the stock firmware successfully we will provide you the flashing procedure on the Canvas A1.

Until then, you can download the Stock firmware from the download links below and start trying to flash the firmware on your device.
