The Nougat firmware for the Huawei Mate 8 has leaked online on the web today. The update comes from the official Huawei servers, so it’s as genuine as you’d want a leaked Android 7.0 firmware to be. We also saw Huawei P9 Nougat firmware leak yesterday, so it’s kind of raining Android 7.0 firmware these days (more referred at the bottom of article).
Flashing the update will require some previous experience with flashing, following the instructions to the point and taking considerable risks. If you just can’t wait to get your hands on this firmware and want to dare it out, please go ahead.
Instructions to go back to the stock firmware are also provided in case you’re not happy with Nougat (but I don’t see a reason why you wouldn’t be).
The Mate 8 from Huawei was launched last year in November with Marshmallow 6.0.1 out of the box. Seems like Huawei is doing a good job keeping up with the update schedule.
This is second Android 7.0 firmware leak of the day, as we also covered the Zuk Z2 Plus Nougat firmware earlier, which also involves a tedious installation. Thankfully the G5 Nougat firmware, and the one for Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge, and the Honor 8 are a lot, lot easy.

Mate 8 Firmware Download
Well, you can download the firmware from the page here, which also has the installation guide. So, that’s all you would need to update your Mate 8 to Android Nougat. Just make sure you have the correct Mate 8 variant for you, matching its model no. with that of firmware. You have to have Mate 8 model no. AL10 with you, as the software version is AL10C00B523 of this Nougat firmware.
