LG announced the Watch Urbane smartwatch officially in February this year and now, the firm has announced the global rollout of this wearable device. It has been claimed that the device will initially go on sale in South Korea this week and it will be followed by prime markets such as North America, Europe and Asia this month.
Notably, the LG fans in countries such as Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Korea, Spain, U.K. and U.S. can purchase the Watch Urbane via the Google Store starting this month. However, LG has not revealed any word regarding the pricing of the LG Watch Urbane.
The LG Watch Urbane is the first one to arrive with the latest iteration of Android Wear platform. It boasts of a circular 1.3 inch P-OLED display with a resolution of 320×320 pixels as the G Watch R launched last year.
The newest smartwatch from LG employs a quad core Snapdragon 400 processor paired with 512 MB of RAM and 4 GB of native memory capacity. A 410 mAh battery powers the smartwatch from within.
Though the device has a circular display as the G Watch R, the Watch Urbane is distinctive with a classy look that resembles a traditional watch. Notably, the smartwatch has the IP67 certification as it is dust and water resistant. It is built with stainless steel and has stitched leather strap that can be swapped with any 22 mm leather, silicone, or metal strap.
Besides these impressive specifications, the Watch Urbane has a couple of features that are not seen on any Android Wear smartwatches. The first one is LG Call that lets users to access their smartphone via Bluetooth to make calls and use a Bluetooth headset to talk. The next one is LG Pulse that can measure the heart rate of the user every second during workout without a maximum time limit.
