The LG Watch Style, one of the first smartwatches (along with the LG Watch Sport) to have Android Wear 2.0 and Google Assistant pre-installed, was discounted to $179 earlier this Spring, but, in case you missed that sale, Best Buy, as does Amazon, believes in second-chance sales. The LG Watch Style is now down to $179 again at both Best Buy and Amazon.

Of course, this isn’t as sweet as the free Watch Style deal through B&H that was reborn this week to match its pre-order deal, but then and again, you’re not having to pick up the LG G6 if you don’t want to.

The LG Watch Style features a rotating crown that is all too reminiscent of the same on the Apple Watch, and also has IP-certified water and dust resistance so that you need not worry about how it encounters the elements. Android Wear 2.0 brings features such as an on-screen keyboard, customizable watch faces, and the on-wrist Play Store that gives you more freedom away from your phone to install apps on your watch right from your wrist. Keep in mind, though, that the Watch Style does lack NFC, so no Android Pay functionality, I’m afraid.

Google Assistant is present, though, so you can ask the AI the same questions as you would on a high-end Android or Pixel/Pixel XL and get on-the-wrist answers.

This doesn’t mean that the LG Watch Style doesn’t appeal to some Android users even in the absence of NFC and the presence of deliberate Apple inspiration, because it does. It is to those who appreciate LG and Google’s partnership that this deal is targeted, anyway.
