I don’t understand how LG never understands how to price its different products in India. Last year, the Korean electronics company launched its innovative LG G Flex smartphone in India for a price tag of Rs. 68,900. Yeah, seriously. And they obviously failed to sell any of those. We thought LG would learn a lesson from that but here we are in 2015 and LG is up with a new smartwatch (which we really like) but has priced the thing hefty at Rs. 29,999.

The LG Watch Urbane is an all metal watch that LG meant to be premium but it’s priced decently at $350 in US and other markets, however for India where smartwatch market is in its nascent stages, LG has yet decided to sell it for an even premium price tag of $472. Stupid! The thing is not going to sell much.

As of now, the LG Watch Urbane has only appeared on Amazon India. It doesn’t mention exclusivity there, but given the trend of online shopping market in India with e-retailers getting exclusive sales agreements for newer products, the Watch Urbane might just end up tied exclusively to Amazon. But there’s no official statement on that yet.
