The users of LG G2, the 2013 flagship smartphone from the South Korean tech tycoon in India have been eagerly waiting to relish the Android 5.0 Lollipop update. The firm let out the update for the South Korean G2 units in mid-January but there was no word regarding the same in India.
After extensive wait, the Indian users of LG G2 have information from the firm regarding the rollout of the Lollipop update. Well, LG has taken it to Twitter to confirm that the LG G2 units in India will be receiving the Lollipop update in the second quarter of this year.
The rollout of the Lollipop update to the device in the coming months will bring a great overhaul to the device that is running on Android KitKat. The update is believed to bring a lot of changes to the interface adhering to Lollipop with Material Design. It will definitely enhance the performance of the device functionally and visually as well.
Notably, LG G3 received the Android 5.0 Lollipop update in India sometime back with a lot of users complaining about memory leak bug. Hence, LG is expected to rollout the v5.1 Lollipop update to fix this issue soon. However, it is recommended that the users backup the data stored in their G2 and reset the device to factory settings before heading to install the update.
