The Android 5.1 Lollipop update is making its way to the premium and high-end devices in the market. At this point of time, it is likely that the yesteryear flagship smartphone launched by LG might not receive this update.
As per a social media post by LG Hellas, the firm has no immediate plans of rolling out the most recent Lollipop build to the LG G3 smartphone. Lately, the firm released its high-end smartphone LG G4 that is preinstalled with Android 5.1 Lollipop.
While it is said that the LG G3 might not receive the Android 5.1 Lollipop build, there is no concrete reason for the delay in the rollout of the update making the users of the phone upset.
The handset has enough specifications that are needed for it to run the Android 5.1 Lollipop build, and so the reason remains to be known. There is a possibility for the South Korean tech giant to skip the build and directly leapfrog to the upcoming Android M.
It is not new for LG to skip the builds as the firm did the same with the LG G3 taking the device from Android 4.4.2 KitKat to Android 5.0 Lollipop. Though the Android 5.1 Lollipop gets skipped, LG will include the features and fixes that are in the build when it rolls out the Android M update to the device.
