October 24, 2019: The Android Pie update is now also available for the AT&T LG G6. Arriving as software version H87130e, the Android 9 OTA update is hitting the device right now, AT&T announced.
October 23, 2019: LG has started rolling out Android 9 Pie for LG G6 users in Canada (LG-H873). The update carries software version 30B and can be flashed through LG Bridge software.
Update [October 15, 2019]: A new beta update based on Android 9 Pie is now available for the LG G6 users in Europe. The new update arrives as V29a and succeeds previous Android Pie beta update that was the build V20o. If you wish to install it manually, see this page.
October 01, 2019: LG has started rolling out Android 9.0 Pie for the G6 (model number: H870) in Europe. The update was made available through LG Bridge in late September and has now finally been released as an OTA package.
New features like Screenshot with URL, Home touch buttons with gesture, Use the Volume keys for media, Lockdown, Part Slo-mo, YouTube Live, 4×6 Home screen grid, Game launcher, Pin to screen, “Custom” repeat option in Calendar, Dual App, Secure power-off, and more make the update worth the wait.
September 24, 2019: Verizon and European Union users have started receiving Android 9.0 Pie. The update package, which also brings August 2019 security patch, carries software versions VS98830a and V30a for Verizon and EU, respectively.

LG is very late to Android Pie rollout, but it’s finally making the update available. However, if you think of Android 10 being released right now to various devices, the delay is just very disappointing.
Will LG G6 get Android 10?
LG isn’t the most generous when it comes to updating its older devices. The 2017 LG device, which came with Android Nougat out of the box, is yet to get Android Pie, so, it’s highly unlikely that it’d get updated to Android 10.

While LG’s been delaying the Android Pie release, some developers over at XDA have already released custom Pie-based ROMs. The same could happen with Android 10, as well. However, considering that the G6 is more than two years old already, we might not see the same level of enthusiasm in them.
