LG G5 users in Philippines are in for a treat, as the device has just started to receive the Android 7.0 Nougat update. It’s been a long time coming, as users in other regions had received the update in November and December last year.
In a tweet, the LG Philippines Twitter handle stated that the latest Android Nougat update is now available for the G5. However, it is not the latest Android 7.1.1, but version 7.0. The update brings several improvements and new features to the table.
The update was first released in Korea, followed by the US variants of the LG G5 getting it in the next few weeks. LG was the first OEM manufacturer to release the Nougat update to its customers. Also, the LG V20 was the first smartphone to come with the Nougat OS out of the box.
Users in Philippines should start getting the OS update notification soon. If you haven’t got it already, you can check for it manually from Settings > About Device > and System Updates. Before installing the update, make sure the device is sufficiently charged and is connected to Wi-Fi.
