Forget the Retina display on the iPhone 4/4S with its 326 PPI pixel density, LG is here with a new 5″ display that has a whopping 440 PPI density. The display sports a full HD 1920×1080 resolution and is the first display ever that will provide a “Full HDTV Quality” on phones.
The display uses the Advanced High Performance In-Plane Switching (AH-IPS) technology that provides wider viewing angles, higher density, better outdoor readability, improved colour accuracy and low power consumption. Though it hasn’t been used on a phone yet, that will change in the future, which I hope is very soon.
Though some might call a Full HD 5-inch display overkill, it will surely provide a much better and amazingly sharper viewing experience, specially when watching videos or browsing the web. The 1080p display will be the display to match for all other manufacturers once it shows up on phones.
Now, take all my money and get me a phone with this display right now. LG, are you listening?
