The Lenovo ZUK Edge and ZUK Edge L have finally been announced officially after much leaks and rumors in the past couple of months. The devices come with powerful hardware and a pretty neat design, but if you’re a pro Android user, even plain beauty & beast might not interest you.
For the pro users among us, it’s vital to have/be able to root their Android devices. Fortunately, rooting the ZUK Edge shouldn’t be much of a hassle.
ZUK Edge and ZUK Edge L will be shipping with Android 7.0 Nougat which has been rooted fairly easy by both SuperSU and Magisk systemless interface on other Android devices.
However, to be able to flash/install a rooting script you need a custom recovery like TWRP installed on your device first. We’re positive that the knowledgeable folks over at xda will be able to release a working build of TWRP recovery for ZUK Edge and Edge L.
TWRP recovery is an open recovery project, developed and maintained by TeamWin. We’re hopeful that the Zuk Edge and Zuk Edge L will get the official TWRP recovery build within a month of the phone’s release.
We’ll be sure to update this page as and when more info is available on ZUK Edge and ZUK Edge L root and TWRP recovery status. Stay tuned..
