The Vibe S1 from Lenovo which was launched back in November of 2015 is now seeking its price dropped to 7999 Philippine peso — that’s roughly $160 (Rs. 10,900). The specs detail out the device to be a mid range performer with the smartphone featuring a 5.5-inch 1080p display, 3GB of RAM, the MediaTek 6752 chipset and a 2420mAh juice pack.
On the camera front, the device comes with a 13MP main shooter with phase detection auto focus and a 8MP + 2MP dual selfie camera setup. The 2MP sensor adds depth of field information to the picture leading to the bokeh effect with the out of focus blurred background.
The smartphone was originally priced at $240 (or Rs. 15,999) and has been seeing price drops ever since. If you’re in the market for a decent smartphone and don’t mind the older hardware present it, the Vibe S1 offers good value for money.
The only caveat here is that the Vibe S1 may be unlikely to receive the update to Nougat. Otherwise, taking the specifications alone into account, the Vibe S1 is a decent performer and can handle almost anything that today’s smartphones are capable of.
