The Lenovo Vibe P1 made its debut in 2015 and was one the first in a new trend of smartphones. Featuring 2GB of RAM, the Snapdragon 615 and an out of this world 5000mAh battery, the device held its own unique spot. But the Snapdragon 615 running on Lenovo’s Vibe UI wasn’t the best experience you could get even if you had three days of battery life.

It hasn’t been confirmed yet whether Lenovo will roll out the Nougat update for the Vibe P1 leaving the device stuck on Marshmallow for now. This is where Android 7.1.1 based Lineage OS 14.1 comes in for the Vibe P1.

Though it is an unofficial build, it does allow you to squeeze every ounce of performance out of your smartphone. On top of that, you will also be able to customize the device beyond the mortal themes found on the Play Store.

Since it’s an unofficial build, there may be a few lingering bugs. But they shouldn’t affect real time performance and eventually they should be ironed out over time with frequent updates. The official release should be out pretty soon once the Lineage team have fully completed the transition from CyanogenMod to Lineage OS.
