A new tablet from Lenovo is expected to arrive soon. The device, bearing the model number TB-8X04F, was spotted at a GFXBench listing, telling us that it may be powered by the quad-core Snapdragon 427 chipset and the Adreno 308 GPU. The same device turned up at Geekbench too, BTW, adding credibility to its existence.
The Lenovo TB-8X04F may be a budget oriented tablet as it would feature 2GB of RAM, while the new Snapdragon 427 chipset is also one meant for the low-end devices. The benchmark listing also reveals a 9.4-inch display with a 1280 x 800 resolution on-board the new tablet from Lenovo.
What’s interesting to note is that, this may well be the first device to feature Android 7.1.1 Nougat from Lenovo, which is great, especially for an entry-level device. The TB-8X04F tablet may also feature an adequate 8MP rear shooter and a 2MP front facing camera.
A couple of months back we saw another Lenovo tablet lurking about GFXBench and this too was running on Android 7.1.1 Nougat. Does this indicate that Lenovo is finally making the shift to Nougat with their mid-range and lower end devices? We hope so as many devices from Lenovo’s current smartphone lineup is still stuck on Marshmallow and is in dire need of an upgrade.
