Lenovo’s upcoming Tab4 8 Plus with model number B-8704 has just been spotted on GFXbench running Android 7.1.1 Nougat. Wait, did we just hear that right? Even though announced with Android 7.0 pre-installed, this leak surely has our hopes raised about the prospect of Lenovo internally testing the Android 7.1.1 update for its devices.
The Chinese OEM which is known for releasing truckload of devices without delivering updates for its much capable handsets, but it seems it’s ready to provide Nougat to its users after all, although it’s sad that it would come pre-installed on new devices rather than as an update to old devices. The situation is so bad that people even brought up issue on change.org.
The Tab4 8 Plus is a reliable mid-range performer running on the Snapdragon 625 with 4GB of RAM. The tablet features an 8-inch 1200 x 1980 resolution display along with an 8MP rear camera and a 5MP front facing shooter.

The Lenovo Tab4 8 Plus comes with 64GB of internal storage for the 4GB RAM variant and 16GB with the 3GB RAM variant. The tablet is powered by a 4850mAh battery on board. Considering that the Snapdragon 625 is extremely power efficient you should be able to say good battery life.

The Tab4 8 Plus was already announced at MWC this year and is expected to release around May. With Nougat on the way, it would be great to see Nougat release for at least Lenovo’s high end line up, albeit a tad bit late.
