The Turbo Challenge in Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight requires you to boost in any Gotham vehicle for 30 consecutive seconds without stopping or hitting anything to earn 5,000 Studs.
How to Complete the Turbo Challenge
Step 1: Unlock South Island Access
Progress through Chapter 1 until you complete the Carmine Falcone mission. This unlocks South Island and opens the bridge connection from Tricorner Island, giving you the longest uninterrupted stretch of road in Gotham City for maintaining turbo speed.

Step 2: Position at the Bridge Entry Point
Head to the entry point of the bridge from Tricorner Island. Position your vehicle properly in your lane to avoid oncoming traffic collisions.

Wait for traffic to clear before starting your run—patience here prevents frustrating restarts.
Step 3: Activate and Hold Turbo Mode
Press and hold the Square button (PlayStation) or X button (Xbox) to enter Turbo Mode.

Do not release this button until you’ve maintained speed for the full 30-second duration. Steer carefully using the left stick or D-pad to avoid traffic and barriers.

Continue straight onto the South Island highway after crossing the bridge. This highway features spaced-out traffic patterns and an unbroken path, making it the most reliable route for completing the challenge without interruptions.

The wide, open roads that link the islands significantly simplify the journey.
Critical Mistakes to Avoid
-
Releasing Turbo Too Early: The 30-second timer resets if you release the boost button or collide with anything. Keep constant pressure on the Square/X button throughout the entire duration.
-
Ignoring Traffic Patterns: Starting your run while traffic is dense guarantees failure. Always wait for a clear opening before activating turbo.
-
Using Complex Routes: Avoid tight city streets or congested areas. The bridge-to-highway route is specifically designed for this challenge with minimal obstacles.
-
Wrong Vehicle Selection: While any vehicle works, the 202 Batmobile (your starter vehicle) is recommended for its handling and speed balance. Players report completing the challenge on the first attempt using this vehicle.
Alternative Routes
If you prefer a different path, the route from the amusement park on North Island to Wayne Tower in South Island also works well. This route uses similarly wide, open connector roads between islands that minimize traffic interference.

Rewards
Once you’ve successfully maintained turbo for 30 seconds, the challenge completes automatically. To claim your 5,000 Studs, return to the Batcave and head to the green computer terminal located west above the Batmobile garage. Press X (PlayStation) or A (Xbox) to cash in the completed challenge. Note that the Batcave payout system unlocks in Chapter 2, so you won’t be able to collect rewards before then even if you complete challenges earlier.

The Turbo Challenge is one of the most straightforward vehicle-based challenges in LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight, but it requires patience and route knowledge to execute cleanly. With 5,000 Studs per completion, it’s a valuable contribution to your overall stud collection for unlocking vehicles, suits, and Batcave upgrades.
