The Samsung Galaxy S9+ is without a doubt the best all-rounder smartphone that money can buy right now, especially for folks who don’t really fancy the S Pen in the pricier Note 9 and would also like to save a few bucks on top of that. While the S9+ is the closest Samsung has come to perfection, it’s obvious that the company could have done a lot better, especially now that we have our eyes on leaked images of the Huawei Mate 20.

Huawei will next month unveil the Mate 20 series and as usual, the recent past has been full of leaked images, specs and features of what to expect when the phone comes to life. We know this will be a high-end phone, just like previous phones in the Mate series, but Huawei is facing a tough battle against Samsung and the company’s Galaxy S9 and Galaxy Note 9 flagships.

From the leaked image of the Huawei Mate 20, though, we can say this is what Samsung Galaxy S9+ should have looked like, albeit without the notch. Yes, the Mate 20, like most Huawei phones released in 2018, will have a notched display screen, however, the symmetry of the bezels makes the phone look dope. Unlike the S9+ whose power button looks awkwardly placed, the one on the Mate 20 looks better-positioned for easy access.

And then there’s the tri-lens camera on the back of the Mate 20 – a similar setup that has made the Huawei P20 Pro unbeatable in the camera department. Samsung missed out on the chance to become the first in the world to debut a device with three camera lenses on the back. This would have been made possible if the standard S9 got a dual-lens setup, but instead, the company went with a single-lens and a dual-lens for the S9+.

On the brighter side, the door seems to have opened for a Galaxy S10 with three camera lenses on the back after Samsung unveiled its first device with a triple camera – the Samsung Galaxy A7 2018. Hopefully, Samsung will pick a lesson or two from Huawei and give us a tri-lens camera on the back of the S10 alongside other much-needed design improvements.
