News about an alleged successor to last year’s Xiaomi Redmi Pro has started doing the rounds. A few days back leaked image of the Redmi Pro 2 was spotted on the Chinese microblogging site Weibo alongwith the specsheet. A new leak has emerged claiming the processor of the phone which could be Snapdragon 653.

Previously leaked specs of Redmi Pro 2 include a 5.5-inch FHD screen, which is the same as its predecessor. Xiaomi has upgraded the storage to 4GB and 6GB paired with 64GB and 128GB internal storage respectively. That’s quite an enhancement. Another upgrade comes in the form of processor. The Redmi Pro was powered by Mediatek chipsets while the new device will sport a Snapdragon 653 CPU.
On the camera front, the Pro 2 gets a downer with a single rear camera of 12MP with a Sony IMX362 sensor and Dual Pixel autofocus. Redmi Pro had a dual rear camera setup. The battery has also been enhanced in the new device to 4500 mAh.
The base Redmi Pro model with 4GB RAM/64GB combo will cost around $230 while the premium variant carrying 6GB RAM/128GB storage will come at a price of $260.
