U.S. carriers that include Verizon, T-Mobile, and Sprint have been rolling out software updates to their Galaxy S9 and S9+ units with the latest July 2018 security patches alongside improvements to camera performance, call quality, and other aspects. Well, it’s AT&T’s turn and the carrier has improvements of its own, too, alongside July security patches.

AT&T notes that the latest Galaxy S9 update not only ups the security of the devices, but also introduces Messaging as a Platform, which is simply referred to as MaaP, and further improves network performance.

The updates carry software versions G960USQU3ARG7 for the Galaxy S9 and G965USQU3ARG7 for the S9+. The updates are a little heavy, weighing in at 546MB and since they’ll be coming in over the air, be sure to get a good Wi-Fi connection for downloading the installation package. AT&T also notes that you must be on build ARF4 on either phone in order to be eligible to download the latest build ARG7.

The update may take several days before showing up on all Galaxy S9 and S9+ units, so be patient if you haven’t seen the OTA notification by now. Speaking of patience, you’ll also have to exercise more of it with respect to the new Android 9 Pie update, which could roll out to the devices later this year or in early 2019.
