Samsung may not be having any plans to upgrade the Galaxy A3 2016 to Android 8.0 Oreo, but the company obviously hasn’t forgotten about the handset.
In the latest attempt to keep the device fresh, Samsung is rolling out a new update that installs a new Android security patch for the month of March 2018. Of course, it’s not the latest version available, but for a device of the A3 2016’s caliber and age, it’s a welcome update.

The update comes as part of software version A310FXXU4CRC1 and is rolling out over the air, which means it’ll take time before every Galaxy A3 2016 unit gets the OTA notification. You can also try a manual update by heading to Settings > About phone > Download update manually.
Besides the March patch, the update also brings an unknown number of bug fixes alongside performance and stability improvements.
