One of the unique features of the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus (compared to the standard S6) was the Apps Edge, which lets users quickly access their frequently used apps from the phone’s edge screen. Given the edge-to-edge model is now Samsung’s chosen design for its flagship phones, you also get Apps Edge on the latest Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus (S8, S8 Plus, Note 8 and S7 Edge too) and apparently, a new update is rolling out to the app.

The update comes in as version 3.3.42.2 and weighs just 1.22MB. After the update, it’s now possible to open apps in a pop-up window. To do this, simply long-press the icon of the app you want to open on the Apps Edge.

Besides the new feature, you also get other bug fixes and performance enhancements. The update is rolling out gradually and soon it will be available to all users of Apps Edge, if it isn’t already.
