October 28, 2019: Verizon has started rolling out an update for Kyocera Duraforce Pro 2. Carrying software version 3.806VZ, the OTA enables Bluetooth switching during calls, fixes issues with the Contact app, SMS, Google Drive, and flashlight; and brings the September 2019 security patch.
August 26, 2019: A new OTA update (version 3.708VZ) is now rolling out for the DuraForce Pro 2 that installs the July and August 2019 security patches.
June 19, 2019: FInally, Android 9 Pie update is now available for the Kyocera DuraForce Pro 2. Coming in as software version 3.516VZ, the update is massive so be sure to connect to Wi-Fi to download it. With Android Pie, you can cool new features like Adaptive Brightness, Adaptive Battery, Gesture Navigation, Digital Wellbeing, Dark mode, App Actions, App Slices, Easier Screen Rotation, improved DND mode, new Material design, etc.
Here’s the changelog Verizon says about the Pie update for DuraForce Pro 2:
- Swipe up on the Home button instead of pressing buttons to show Recent apps
- Android 9 learns how you use your phone to provide a better experience
- Android 9 provides lockdown mode for more privacy. During Lockdown mode, fingerprint and other biometric authentications are disabled
- Android 9 enhances your home screen experience.

Verizon released the Android Pie update for the Kyocera DuraForce Pro 2 on 19th of June, 2019.
