Last month the hardworking developers behind the world’s most popular multi-platform media player Kodi, released the Alpha 2 build of the upcoming Kodi v18 Leia update. We highlighted the winning features of the upcoming media player’s major update, where the highlighting features are to be Live TV, Google Assistant integration and a whole lot more.
But for this week, the Kodi team wants you to welcome the third iteration of the Kodi v18 Leia Alpha build, a name dedicated to the late Carrie Fisher. We’ve extensively covered all of the features you can expect from the next major Kodi release this year, but with the release of Alpha 3 build, there are some extra details highlighted by the team.
No big features, but improved performance
Although the official press release suggests that there are no big new features released, the update is focused more towards improving the functionality of the media player. As mentioned, the ‘stability has been improved a lot’, with the occasional glitches and crashes that users experienced have been reduced significantly.

The official launch of Kodi v18 Leia is expected to be at the end of the year when you can expect all of the promised features and more to be rolled out.
