A few days back, we have heard rumors regarding a Lenovo backed firm ZUK that will be launching its first flagship smartphone called ZUK Z1. Now, the firm has revealed some of the official specifications of the smartphone.
For Lenovo, the launch of ZUK sub-brand of smartphones in its homeland China is a risky move considering the competitive market. The reason is Lenovo’s devices are yet to set the smartphone arena on fire and lure the attention of customers. However, the firm has a slew of solid devices with a decent build.
The ZUK Z1 is the first flagship in the latest sub-brand that will compete with the new LeTV smartphones that were also launched in China and the upcoming OnePlus 2.
In a presentation in China, ZUK unveiled the key aspects of the Z1 including the presence of a U-Touch fingerprint scanner or gesture control system below the display. It remains to be known if this is a touch area or the physical home button. This feature will help in unlocking the device and also swiping between the menus and screens.
The other highlight of the ZUK Z1 is the mammoth battery capacity that is larger than 4,000 mAh. The exact specification is not known, but it seems to be larger than the ones in its challengers that is an advantage.
The ZUK Z1 will support GSM, LTE and 3G on the major carriers including China Telecom, China Mobile and China Unicom. The other aspects of the device include a 13 MP main snapper at its back with 4160×3120 pixel resolution and Android 5.1 Lollipop. The ZUK Z1 is claimed to be released in late August or early September and priced around 1,999 Yuan.
